Introduction to Mindfulness – Theory, Science and Practice Seminar was first developed and presented for McMaster Health Services Centre Senior Leadership Team retreat, May, 2012.

This introductory seminar grounds mindfulness in neuroscience with a balance of theory and practice to give participants an opportunity to experience the benefits of mindfulness in practice.

Topics include:

  • History and development of mindfulness theory and practice
  • Research on mindfulness and benefits of practice
  • Being vs doing
  • Habitual patterns and the stress response
  • Mindfulness and neuroscience
  • Facets and attitudes of mindfulness practice
  • Guided and experiential exercises and foundational mindfulness practices
  • Mindfulness in Action – Mindfulness Applied
  • Making Mindfulness a Practice

 

This seminar can be booked as a keynote presentation, a leadership retreat and/or as an introduction to a longer mindfulness in the workplace training program.
