How often have you said to yourself and others, “after I do this, or once I’ve done that, then I’ll ….go for a walk, read a book, book a massage, take a trip, go out for a night on the town, take that course I’ve wanted to take, take some time off work etc…the list goes on.
Ask yourself, “What am I letting get in the way?”
If you’re like most women I know or have known, you may be putting everything in your life – your kids, your partner, your home, your work, your friends, ahead of you….you, are somewhere near the bottom of your “take care of list” and that’s the rub.
Ask yourself, “When and how is this specially designated Me Time – Time for Self supposed to show up in my life? How will I recognize it when it does? Will I be ready to accept the invitation and act or will I begrudgingly put it off for another round of endless and self-imposed duties I’ve taken on for others?
As long as I’m at the bottom of my list, how can I possibly expect to be at my best?
Self-Affirmation is a Healthy Lifestyle Practice
Here’s one you can work with or rework to suit:
Just for today,
…I give myself the time and attention to tune in and listen to my heart.
Just for today,
…I allow myself the rest, renewal and healing I need and want.
Just for today,
…I put myself first. I deserve it!
The world will be the better for it and I will be grateful that I did.
